Physiotherapy

These appointments are to assess a specific problem and work to a treatment plan. These can be an acute or chronic injury, a review of your biomechanics to improve effectiveness or reduce injury for a specific activity/sport/event. I would recommend an Initial Assessment of 45 mins for all new patients/new issues and then continue with 30 min follow up sessions.

Conditions treated include but are not exclusive to:

  • Neck and Back Pain

  • Joint Pain and Osteoarthritis

  • Sports Injuries

  • Post Operation Rehabilitation- including Spinal, Shoulder, Hip, Knee, Ankle Surgery

  • Repetitive Strain Injuries

  • Temporomandibular Joint Disfunction (TMJ) Pain

  • Postural and Biomechanical Assessment

Treatment modalities include:

  • Massage / Sports Massage

  • Ultrasound

  • Acupuncture / Dry Needling

  • Kinesiology Taping

  • Exercise / Education

Sports Massage

This is a form of deep tissue massage that targets the areas of tightness and trigger points (knots) in the muscles. The depth of massage can be adapted to suit your individual needs. These can be booked as you require and you can decide on the day what needs to be worked on. These come as 30 minute, 45 minute or 60 minute appointments.

Maintenance

Sometimes even with the greatest intentions we are unable to fully fix everything. This may be due to degenerative changes, irreversible conditions/injuries or busy lifestyles etc. In this instance there is a place for physiotherapy to be part of your management plan to help with pain, optimize your ability to continue with the things you love and stay active.  These appointments tend to be spaced anywhere from every 4 weeks to once a year. This can include physiotherapy or sports massage modalities. I would recommend a 45 minute appointment for new patients or issue but after that you can choose 30 minute, 45 minute or 60 minute appointment in accordance to your needs.
